Beim Festkonzert anläßlich des 25jährigen Bestehens des Gesangvereins österreichischer Eisenbahnbeamten unter Chormeister Edmund Reim und unter Mitwirkung der Wiener Philharmoniker und Georg Reimers' (als Sprecher) im Großen Musikvereinssaal in Wien werden Orchesterwerke und Chöre aufgeführt (***), darunter auch Bruckners "Um Mitternacht" (WAB 89) (°).

The Los Angeles Times bringt auf S. 54 einen Artikel der New York Post über Felix Mottl, in dem auch das Salzburger Mozartfest mit der 4. Symphonie [13.8.1904] zur Sprache kommt:
"Germany and Austria.
     The important role played by music in Germany and Austria is illustrated by the fact that Vienna is better known to the world at large through the great composers who dwelt there [... 5 Namen ...] than through the achievements of her great men in other fields, [... Salzburg/Mozart, Bayreuth/Wagner ... Lilli Lehmann der Star in Salzburg]. This Year further brilliance was given to the festival by the coöperation [sic] of Felix Mottl, Mark Hambourg and M. Thibaud. [... Mottl erstmals vor den Wiener Philharmonikern ...]. There had been little time for rehearsing, but a great man like Mottl can do more with one or two rehearsals than an ordinary conductor can with ten; he aroused the enthusiasm of the audiences, and, what is more, of his players, to a high pitch by his interpretation of Bruckner's "Romantic Symphony" and other works. [... Mottls Einstellung zu Richard Strauss, sein Toast auf Mozart ...]. Mozart created many beautiful melodies, but he was not a bit of a reformer.– [New York Post." (°°).

Erneuter Hinweis auf den Vortrag über die 9. Symphonie am 15.12.1904 in The Washington Times Nr. 3807 auf S. 18:
"Series of Lectures.
     Plans have been completed by the faculty of the University of Music for a series of lectures treating of the lives and works of famous composers. [...]
     All lectures will be given in the University Building, 1514 H Street northwest. Other dates announced are December 1, lecture on chamber music programs; December 15, the Ninth Symphony of Bruckner; December 5, recital of church music course [...]." (°°°).
