In einer Buchbesprechung in The Boston Globe Nr. 131 auf S. 4 wird Bruckner (vertreten mit 4 Symphonien) erwähnt:
"             MODERN SYMPHONIES.
Philip H. Goepp Has Issued His Thied Book in the Series "Symphonies and Their Meaning."
     Philip H. Goepp, the annotator of the programs of the Philhadelphia Orchestra, has issued his third book, "Modern Symphonies," in the series "Symphonies and Their Meaning." The author expresses his purpose to treat the main lines of the development of the symphony in the 19th and the present centuries.
     He discusses examples of the form by Tschaikowsky, the D minor of Franck, four by Bruckner [siehe die Anmerkung], the fifth of Mahler [... etc. ...]. These are symphonies in absolute form.
     The book also considers the symphonic poem [...]."
