Artikel "Handel mit der F-moll=Messe Anton Bruckners" in der Arbeiterzeitung Nr. 57 auf S. 4. Als letzter Eigentümer sei Fritz Winkler, Zeichenprofessor des Technologischen Gewerbemuseums, ermittelt worden, der es geerbt und in Frühjahr 1920 dem Gutsbesitzer Widmann in Bozen verkauft habe. Nach einer späteren Darstellung habe seine Frau das Manuskript schon Jahre vor Kriegsausbruch von einem Großindustriellen zum Geschenk erhalten. Es sei noch nicht geklärt, wie das Manuskript 1896 aus Bruckners Nachlass verschwunden sei (*).

 

Einen ähnlichen Bericht ("Geplanter Verkauf der F moll=Messe Anton Bruckners.") bringt das Neue Wiener Journal Nr. 9810 auf S. 11 (**).

Aufführung der 3. Symphonie durch das Wiener Tonkünstlerorchester unter Anton Konrath im Musikvereinssaal in Wien. Solist in der Wanderer-Fantasie von Schubert/Liszt ist Leo Birkenfeld (°).

 

The Austin American (Austin, Texas) stellt auf S. 18 (= S. 6 des 2. Teils) einen aus Wien stammenden Künstler vor (mit dem bereits am 20.2.1921 verwendeten Text):

"New Violinist in U. S.

     The latest foreign violinist to arrive from Europe and who made his New York debut on the evening of Feb. 22, in Carnegie Hall, is Carlo Sabatini.

      He has been appearing in Europe and the British Isles for several years.

      The violinist is a native of Vienna, his parents being Italian and Austrian.

     His first teacher was his father, a well known amateur.

     At the age of fourteen he entered the Conservatory of Vienna, and later studied with such teachers as Gruen, Helmsberger [sic] and Bruckner.

     His first public appearance took place when he was sixteen years of age.

     He then left for England, where he was soloist with the Philharmonic Society, under Sir Henry Wood.

     While in the British metropolis he met August Wilhelmj, who became interestde [sic] in his work and aided him in several ways." (°°).

 

The Indianapolis Star Nr. 274 (Indianapolis, Indiana) erwähnt Bruckner auf S. 64[?] (= S. 10 des 5. Teils, Beginn auf S. 55[?] = S. 1 des 5. Teils):
