"     CONCORDIA STUDENTS IN A FINE CHORAL PROGRAM
Audience at Lutheran Seminary's Annual Concert Fills Moolah Temple.

The Concordia Seminary Students' Chorus of 100 men, mostly in their twenties, gave its annual concert last night to an audience which filled Moolah Temple. This chorus attracts its own peculiar constituency, that of the Evangelical Lutheran Church; but its program had sufficient merit to be of general interest.
The great Luther hymn, "Ein' Feste Burg," sung in the original German, was the opening number. Here the fine enunciation of the chorus was noticeable. [... Chöre religiösen Charakters ...].
Of the other choral numbers, the best executed were "The Destruction of Gaza," by Laurent de Rille, "The Storm," a descriptive work of S. Attenhofer. Two songs of Anton Bruckner were sung in German, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the composer's birth. Two piano numbers were played by the Rev. H. B. Fehner." (***).

Darüber schreibt auch der St. Louis Globe-Democrat Nr. 277 auf S. 8:
"Student's Orchestra of Concordia Seminary Give a Fine Concert
[... erwähnt werden: Herbert B. Fehner, Frederick Fischer ...].
The chorus was accompanied by two pianos, and the youngmen, standing in four semicirculat toers, were easily enabled to make their several quires heard to good advantage. They sang most of their numbers from score, and in the unaccompanied pieces developed a finr tone quality.
The famous old chorale by Martin Luther [... wird täglich gesungen ...   Krug, Attenhofer u. a. im ersten Teil ... Fehner spielte Liszts Ungarische Rhapsodie Nr. 12 ... Laurent de Rille "The Destruction of Gaza" ...].
This thankful piece pleased so well that Conductor Fischer announced he would repeat it at the end of the program. Two bracketed numbers by the versatile Anton Bruckner, Comforter Music, and At Midnight, sung in the original, were good examples of ensemble song. [... zwei weitere Werke...]." (°).
