Ferdinand Löwes vierhändiger und Cyrill Hynais' zweihändiger Klavierauszug der 4. Symphonie erscheinen mit der Nummer 2882 bzw. 2883 bei der Universal-Edition, zur 7. Symphonie Hermann Behns Auszug für 2 Klaviere mit der Nummer 2890, der vierhändige der Brüder Schalk mit der Nummer 2888 und der zweihändige Klavierauszug von Hynais mit der Nummer 2889 (*).

 

The Chicago Tribune Nr. 242 kündigt auf S. 12 die Aufführung der 8. Symphonie an:

"              Stock Tells Orchestra Plans.

     Frederick Stock, conductor of the Thomas orchestra, who returned to Chicago yesterday via Piitsburg [...] has brought with him many novelties and much enthusiasm for the coming season. [... wird nicht Mahlers Nachfolger in New York, hat dessen achte Symphonie in München gehört ...].

     The novelties for the season will be: Reger, variations; Elgar [... 10 weitere Komponisten ...]; Bruckner, eighth symphony; Sibelius, "Nocturnal Ride" and "Sunrise." " (**).

[In dieser Saison wurde [stattdessen?] die 3. Symphonie aufgeführt, am 10./11.3.1911.]

 

The Inter Ocean Nr. 200 bringt auf S. 12 die Äußerungen Stocks zum neuen Saisonplan als wörtliche Zitate:

"     STOCK BACK WITH MUSICAL NOVELTIES

     Frederick A. Stock, conductor of the Theodore Thomas orchestra, returned yesterday from his trip to Germany in search of recreation and novelties for the coming orchestral season, [...].

                 Brings Back Novelties.

     In response to a question as to the novelties he had chosen for the coming season, Stock said: "I had better luck than I expected. We shall play a numer of new things. Among them are [... Tschaikowsky, Elgar-Violinkonzert, Debussy, Delius ...], three symphonies, one by Kallinakow [sic], Borodin's E flat symphony and Bruckner's eighth.

     "Also, I have chosen MacDowell's symphonic poem "Lamia," [... weitere Werke ... evtl. Mahlers Achte? ... bleibt in Chicago ...]." (***).
