The Manchester Guardian Nr. 20849 kündigt eine Bruckner-Symphonie für die nächste Saison an [3. Symphonie am 6.11.1913]:

"           HALLE CONCERTS.

             A SMALL DEFICIT.

MR. BALLING'S CALL FOR MORE REHEARSALS.

        THE COMING SEASON.

[... gestern Gesellschaftsversammlung ...]. Mr. Broadfield outlined the programme for next season. Beethoven, Strauss, and Wagner will be represented at the opening concert. These composers, in company with Haydn, Mozart, Verdo, Brahms, Dvorak, Weber, Bruckner, and Tschaikovsky, will appear on programmes of later concerts. [... Sponsorenbeiträge, mehr Proben erwünscht ... Rückblick ...]. Of the twelve symphonies performed three were Beethoven's, and the others were [... 9. Symphonie am 28.11.1912 nicht erwähnt ...]. The choral works included "The Messiah," [... Mendelssohn, Elgar, Berlioz, Brahms ...], Bruckner's "Te Deum," and the second and third acts of Wagner's "Parsifal."

                 NEXT SEASON.

[... am 16.10.1913 Beethoven, Strauss und Wagner ...]. Two more symphonies by Beethoven will be given during the season, and Haydn, Mozart, Berlioz, Brahms, Dvorak, Bruckner, Strauss, and Tschaikovsky will also be represented by great orchestral works. [... Ouvertüren und andere Werke ... Solisten und Sänger ... weiterer Verlauf der Sitzung ...]." (*).

 

Welches Werk vorgesehen ist, erfährt man auch in der Notiz auf Seite 18 nicht:

"             THE HALLÉ CONCERTS.

         NEXT SEASON'S NOVELTIES.

     Among the novelties already arranged for the next season of the Hallé Concerts Society (the annual meeting of which is fully reported on page 4), are the following:–"Concerto in the Ancient Style" (Reger); [... Sinigaglia, Richard Strauss, Holbrooke, Rachmaninoff, Walford Davies, Bantock ...]; and a Symphony by Bruckner. Verdi's "Requiem" will be given to celebrate the centenary of the composer's birth." (**).
